Latex Gloves
Should your latex gloves be powdered or powder free? Securitex HR and Securitex PF are powder free, and Securitex LP is powdered, with corn starch among its materials. All three are latex examination gloves, beaded at the cuff, ambidextrous and single use. In a clinic or ward, go for HR or PF, since the TGA passes on the World Health Organisation's general policy that examination gloves be powder free to avoid reactions with alcohol-based hand rubs.
Going by the datasheets, Securitex HR has a 295mm extra long cuff and 0.33mm at the finger (single wall) against 0.14mm on PF, so there's more than twice the latex between the hand and the job. It comes 50 to a dispenser and 500 to a carton, and it's the only one of the three made in XXL. Securitex PF and Securitex LP are the standard 240mm gloves at 0.14mm and 0.12mm at the finger, packed 100 to a dispenser and 1000 to a carton. PF is the one to pick if you need an XS. HACCP International certifies all three Securitex lines Food Zone Primary, though only HR is listed among the food safe gloves. Every one of them is natural rubber latex, and each datasheet carries the same warning that they may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Where a wearer is latex allergic, choose from the latex free gloves.
