Colson Castors

EHI is part of the Colson Group, which describes itself as the largest castor and wheel maker in the world and says it has been making them since 1885. The 75 Colson castors here run from 50kg per castor on the 75mm P1 to 2000kg on the X1, with wheels from 75mm to 250mm. The I3 and I6 are the industrial lines (the I6 runs Grey Performa thermoplastic elastomer treads), and the H6, H8, P1, P6, NY and FS go onto medical equipment. The TF, TS and X1 take the heavy and super heavy loads.

The castors themselves run precision bearings on 52 of the 75, and 26 have a total-lock or total brake. There are also 10 wheels, plus 5 Colson floor locks that are special order. Which bearing to go for is a question for the castor buyer's guide.
